Bloom-Carroll Golfers Place Second in MSL-Buckeye Division

GRANVILLE – It was a cold and windy day for the last Mid-State League-Division Buckeye golf tournament, which created difficult conditions at the Denison Golf Course.

Bloom-Carroll failed in his attempt not only to win the tournament, but also to win the league championship. The Bulldogs placed second (353) behind Teays Valley (340). Circleville placed third (357) and was followed by Fairfield Union (367), Logan Elm (377), Amanda-Cleacreek (387) and Liberty Union (410).

Teays Valley finished first in the final league standings with a 22-2 record and was followed by the Bulldogs (21-3), Fairfield Union (14-10), Circleville (13-11), Logan Elm (10 -14), Amanda-Clearcreek (3-21) and Liberty Union (1-23).

Jack Holcomb of Circleville was a medalist with a 79 and was named the league’s player of the year.

Jake Fruth led the Bulldogs with an 80 and was followed by Michael Whitcraft (85), Athan McNabb (94) and Owen Conrad (94) and Justin Stottsberry.

Brody Morgan led Fairfield Union with 90 and was followed by Ethan Stephenson (92) and James Bean (92) and Ty Fisher (94).

Peter Brockman (94) and Eva Millless (95) led the Aces, while Brycen Myers was the lowest man for Liberty Union at 99).
