It’s nearly impossible to crack the code as a former player and find your way back into the league you’ve played in before, this time as a manager.
It wasn’t impossible for Jay Leach, however. The former Altamont resident has “krak” this code in less than a decade.
Originally from Syracuse, Leach moved to Altamont (west of Guilderland and north of Thacher Park after a quick Google search) around the age of two, according to the Times Union profile on capital region hockey players. Leach shone at Albany Academy, as well as with Capital District Selects, leading him to a college and professional career.
