Effective March 4, 2022, until rescinded: Mendocino County Health Officer’s Order rescinding the wearing of face coverings in indoor public places by all persons in response to the rise of COVID-19 and the the spread of the Delta variant. Strong recommendation to continue interior masking for the time being. However, indoor masking is still mandatory in certain settings such as schools, healthcare facilities and public transport. COVID PCR test in the tent

The Mendocino Coast Clinic conducts free drive-through COVID testing in the tent Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The location is 205 South Street, Fort Bragg, CA. The phone number is 707-964-1251.

Mendocino Pantry

There is a weekly pantry every Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Mendocino.

Confinement

Lockdown will be presented by the Mendocino Theater Company in a series of 4 performances, from June 23-26. In a dark classroom, eight students sit in ‘official confinement’, unsure if this is just a drill or a real emergency. When a hysterical freshman runs out of the room and the teacher follows him, the remaining students are left alone to decide whether it is safer to stay or run away.

Free clothing exchange on Friday

Every Friday (weather permitting) from 11 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Fort Bragg Food Bank team of staff and volunteers will be out front at 910 North Franklin Street to sort clothes for Free Friday Clothing Pop Up Swap, open for customers and community members to come by to browse and take home – all for free.

Friday Skating Night

Friday nights from 7-9pm there is Family Skating Night at the Old Rec Gym in Fort Bragg – 213 E Laurel St. The cost is $5 per day and participants under 18 must be signed in by a parent or guardian. For questions, call 707 964-9446.

Storytime at the Fort Bragg Library

Storytime will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., depending on the weather. From 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., “Sinister Science: Rainbow Rain” will follow. The library is located at 499 East Laurel Street, Fort Bragg, California. 707-964-2020.

Fort Bragg Quilt Exhibit

June 25-26 will be the 26th Annual Fort Bragg Quilt Show. Quilts, vendors and demonstrations on Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Discover over 100 quilts and vote for your favourite. Admission fee is $7.00 and is valid for both days. This event will take place at Dana Gray Elementary School.

Redwood Symphony

Symphony of the Redwoods returns to Cotton Auditorium on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26. Guest conductor Phillip Lenberg will conduct the orchestra in a program featuring Abigail Strock, soprano. The program will include works by Mozart, Dvorak, Schubert and more!

Fort Bragg Vaccination Clinic

On Monday, Mendocino County Public Health at 120 West Fir Street in Fort Bragg offers all vaccines, including 3rd doses for immunocompromised individuals and boosters. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch. Sign up for an appointment at MyTurn.gov. A parent or legal guardian must print and sign a consent for minors for the Pfizer vaccine. Check to confirm that the clinic is open on a statutory holiday. Fort Bragg COVID test

COVID testing is available at Fort Bragg outside the Veterans Building on Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The location is 383 North Harrison Street.

Tuesday under the tent

Every week it’s Tuesdays under the Mendocino Coast Clinics Tent from 2-5pm. All vaccines are available, including 3rd doses for the immunocompromised and boosters. This is a drive-thru in the white tent on the north side of the clinic, no appointment necessary. Boosters are now available for children aged 12 and over, if it has been at least 6 months since their second dose if they received Moderna or Pfizer, or at least 2 months if they received Johnson & Johnson. Parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18 to receive a vaccine. Please follow all signage and instructions for the Tuesday Immunization Clinic, and please do not arrive early.

Fort Bragg COVID test

The Mendocino Coast Clinic is offering free COVID monitoring testing (for people with no symptoms) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. These are different tests and are handled differently. If you have symptoms, call the clinic at 707-964-1251 to get evaluated and see if you need to be tested. If you have been exposed, please wait 3-4 days before asking to be tested. You will not get a true result if the test is performed too soon after exposure. The location is 205 South Street.

Albion Pantry

The pantry will be open on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is located in Albion behind the Albion grocery store and the US post office.

Fort Bragg Farmers Market

Blood collect

On June 29 and 30, you will have two opportunities to donate blood at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Bragg. To schedule your appointment time, call 1-877-25-VITAL (1-877-25-8485) Additionally, everyone who donates blood in June or July will be entered into a draw for a two-day stay nights at the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa in Sonoma.
