In addition to a festive backdrop for the holiday season, this year’s Winter RiverFest will also include an ice rink, appearances of Santa Claus. a beer garden, fire pits, retail store, and igloo restaurant along the Cuyahoga River at The Flats.
Winter RiverFest also marks the return of the igloo village to Merwin’s Wharf along the Cuyahoga River.“The holiday season is a special time at the Cleveland Metroparks and we are excited to bring Winter RiverFest back to the Cuyahoga River,” Brian M. Zimmerman, CEO of Cleveland Metroparks, said in a statement. “With ice skating, festive dining and more, Winter RiverFest offers families the opportunity to create new vacation traditions along our scenic waterfront.”
For the first time, the seasonal rink, which features real ice instead of synthetic, can be experienced in temperatures up to 80 degrees. Skate reservations and skate rentals are available online in 90-minute time slots.
Skating reservations are $ 12 for ages six and over, and $ 5 for ages three to five. Ice skate rental is $ 3. Travel will be accepted based on availability. Private ice rink rentals are also available.
Visits with Santa will also take place on certain weekends during the event with additional appearances during holiday hours.
Winter RiverFest also marks the return of the igloo village to Merwin’s Wharf along the Cuyahoga River with a special winter menu focused on shareable elements. Igloo rentals can accommodate up to eight people and can be booked online or at Merwin’s Wharf. Igloo rentals start at a two-hour minimum for $ 50, plus a minimum of food and drink.
Indoor meals at Merwin’s Wharf will also be available on a first come, first served basis throughout the event.

Winter RiverFest will run from November 26 to January 2, Monday to Thursday, 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Fridays from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There are also special hours for public holidays.
