BHOPAL: Having successfully hosted national hockey championships, the state capital is set to host the 64th National Archery Championships (NSCC) 2021 in small caliber rifle events. The championships will be hosted by the National Rifle Association of India at the shooting ranges of the MP State Shooting Academy in Bhopal from November 25 to December 10.
According to official details, the National Championship will be hosted by the National Rifle Association of India with the cooperation of the MP State Shooting Academy.
Madhya Pradesh finished sixth with 41 medals, including 20 gold, eight silver and 13 bronze, in the 63rd National Archery Championship contested at Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in 2019. Notably, the shooting ranges of the The state’s sports department had caught the attention of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) in 2019 when it hosted the 63rd national championship. In addition, Bhopal has hosted several national camps in the past.
After hockey, archery and water sports, Bhopal is expected to experience major developments in the sport of shooting. In 2018, the sports department made one of the best shooting ranges for the 10-meter and 25-meter categories.
Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said Madhya Pradesh has become an important name in sports at the national level. The shooting ranges are set up at the shooting academy on the outskirts of the state capital.
