Northbrook Park District: Northbrook Sports Center offers a variety of ice skating opportunities

The Northbrook Sports Center is home to two NHL-sized rinks open year-round, dance halls and rental facilities and offers a wide variety of opportunities for all ages.

Monthly cosmic skating events are scheduled at the Northbrook Sports Center. These fun family evenings include ice skating, DJ music, games and activities for all ages. Cosmic Skating takes place on November 13, January 22, February 19, and March 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Northbrook Sports Center, 1730 Pfingsten Road. Fees are $ 7 per person and skate rental is available for $ 3.

Public skating hours have also been expanded to include Mondays from 10:30 am to noon, Fridays from 4:50 pm to 6:10 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Daily admission is from $ 6 for adults 18 and over, $ 5 for children 5 to 17 and $ 3 for children under 5. Skate rental is available for $ 3. Magnetic ten-visit cards offer reduced fees; prices are $ 55 for adults, $ 45 for youth and $ 25 for 10 skate rentals. Skaters must be registered in the Northbrook Park District registration system to purchase swipe cards. Public skating will not take place on certain statutory holidays – visit nbparks.org for the full schedule.

A variety of other indoor ice programs are also available in the Northbrook Park District Winter Guide which will be mailed to residents and posted on nbparks.org on November 12. lessons, learn to speed skating lessons, freestyle sessions, off-ice lessons, open hockey, instructional hockey and 52nd annual Northbrook-On-Ice performances. Summer camps include the Skate and Dance Camp and the Hockey Training Academy. Registration for residents opens on November 17 and registration for non-residents opens on November 24.

Northbrook Park District continues to follow local, state and national COVID-19 guidelines and mandates; at this time, masks are mandatory for all indoor events and programs.
