NEW DELHI: Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha and Naval Tata Hockey The Odisha Academy is preparing to welcome the 1st Hockey India 2021 Junior and Sub Junior Women’s Academy National Championship on March 17th at Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The 1st Hockey India Junior Women The 2021 Academy National Championship will be held March 17-26 while the 1st Hockey India 2021 Junior Women’s Academy National Championship will be held March 17-25.
Kalinga Hockey Stadium has hosted several major international competitions such as the Men’s World Cup of Hockey in 2018 and the FIH Olympic Hockey Qualifiers in 2019. Therefore, it will be a fantastic opportunity for players participating in the 1st Championship. The 1st National Championship of the Hockey India Junior Girls Academy 2021 will feature six days of group matches followed by quarter-finals on March 23. The semi-finals and the final will take place on March 25 and 26 respectively. A total of 15 teams will participate in the tournament.
The 1st National Hockey India Junior Women’s Academy Championship 2021 will feature six days of group matches followed by semi-finals on March 24 with a 3rd / 4th place finish and the final will take place on March 25. A total of 10 teams will be part of the tournament.
Senior Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha, Vishal K. Dev, IAS said: “We are very pleased to host the first 2021 Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021, here at Kalinga Stadium. The competition will provide a brilliant platform for academy players to test their skills and become better hockey players. ”
He added: “We have guidelines in place to ensure the safety of everyone involved in both competitions.”
In addition to following the SOPs of Hockey India, all involved in the 2021 Hockey India Junior Women’s Academy First National Championship and Hockey India 2021 Junior Women’s Academy First National Championship will strictly follow the ministry guidelines. Interior and Government of Odisha and all athletes and officials will need to have the Aaroya Setu app on their devices.
They must also follow physical distance measurements at all locations except the athletes on the field. The Department of Sports and Youth Services, the Government of Odisha and the Naval Tata Hockey Academy Odisha will also appoint hygiene officers who will be on site to monitor the well-being of the participants during both competitions.
