Serena Williams has already made history. And as she seeks her 24th Grand Slam title in what she has said will be her final run at the US Open, the 40-year-old is poised to step out in style.
Recently, Williams and her Swoosh family unveiled the apparel and footwear to accompany the tennis athlete’s latest appearance at the US Open. Inspired by figure skating competition outfits, Williams’ choice skirt and bodice don an all-black color scheme offset by diamond encrustation; the six-layered skirt – which references the Michigan-born icon’s six previous wins in Flushing, Queens, New York – complements the jeweled chest and back-supporting bodice, which mimics the sky night above the tournament’s Arthur Ashe Stadium. The shoe of choice, a player-exclusive NikeCourt Flare 2, favors an understated color scheme but also features diamond-encrusted swooshes and solid gold lace deubers curated in collaboration with Serena Williams Jewelry.
